MEET DR. YAPLEE
Dr. Steven M. Yaplee is an exceptionally trained, board-certified ophthalmologist proudly serving the Bakersfield and Delano, CA communities with specialized vision and comprehensive ophthalmology care. With decades of experience, he offers a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services and is a notably distinguished board-certified, fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist throughout Kern and Tulare counties. Dr. Yaplee is dedicated to delivering the highest quality of eye care when diagnosing and treating cataracts, glaucoma, pterygium, and other common and rare eye conditions.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
After earning his degree from the University of California, Davis, Dr. Yaplee attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He then went on to complete his residency in ophthalmology at the Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. To further his expertise, Dr. Yaplee completed a glaucoma fellowship at the Louisiana State University Eye Center in New Orleans, LA. As a glaucoma specialist, he has extensive experience in inpatient, outpatient, and surgical procedures. He has also completed extensive clinical research in the treatment and management of glaucoma using advanced microsurgical techniques.
