Frequently Asked Questions
RF & Plasma Skin Resurfacing: What is it?
Skin resurfacing with radiofrequency (RF) and plasma technology at Triangle Eye Institute is a noninvasive cosmetic procedure. Through the pulsing of beams of light, it removes damaged skin cells by the layer. It works wonders for addressing facial dynamic lines and wrinkles or minimizing blemishes. Skin resurfacing utilizing the Opus™ system is considered an excellent treatment option for people wanting youthful-looking skin! You can make an appointment to see Dr Steven Yaplee in Bakersfield, CA today!
RF & Plasma Skin Resurfacing: How does it work?
RF and Plasma Skin Resurfacing is done as follows: You will be seated in a special chair and the Opus device will be passed over your skin, targeting specific areas of improvement. The heat from this device may feel slightly uncomfortable at first, but it is nothing to worry about – it comes with its own built-in cooling system for maximum comfort! Fractionated plasma and RF wavelengths work together to remove dead cells as well as encourage collagen growth. You can also choose what type of treatment best suits you based on your skin type so that you get optimal results after the procedure. After your appointment, you might feel like you have a sunburn, but this sensation only lasts up to 2 – 3 days when everything heals properly!
Plastic surgery or RF skin resurfacing, which is better for me?
Although facelift surgery can reduce wrinkles and dynamic lines, it may not be an option for all patients. Dr. Yaplee’s RF skin resurfacing is noninvasive and requires minimal downtime, which makes it a good alternative to plastic surgery. Surgery can take several weeks to recover and require incisions, which some people don’t want to face.
Do I need to prepare for RF Skin Resurfacing?
No special preparations are required for RF skin resurfacing. However, we recommend avoiding sunlight and UV rays during the days leading to your appointment. Sunburns can make it difficult to recover and may prevent you from receiving the full benefits of treatment. If you have sunburns or other skin conditions, please inform our team before your procedure.
How do I treat my skin after RF Skin Resurfacing?
Triangle Eye Institute will provide instructions for post-treatment to help make your recovery as painless as possible. The sun can slow down recovery so avoid spending too much time outdoors. Use a mild, non-abrasive moisturizer and cleanser to keep your skin moisturized. Don’t pick at the healing skin as this can cause more damage.
